No. 4 Duke fell on the road Saturday to a struggling St. John’s team, 81-77.
Red Storm sophomore Shamorie Ponds played arguably the greatest game of his career with 33 points as St. John’s (11-13) won their first game since Dec. 20 — a stretch of 11 games.

Duke (19-4) led 39-32 at halftime but fell behind by double-digits with less than nine minutes left.
Trevon Duval (11 points) and Wendell Carter Jr. (14 points, 15 rebounds) led a comeback for the Blue Devils, but Ponds and the Red Storm held on in the closing seconds at Madison Square Garden.
Grayson Allen struggled all day for Duke with just seven points on 1-of-7 shooting.
Gary Trent Jr. led Duke with with 22 points, while Marvin Bailey III had 19.
