NBA trade rumors: Grizzlies working on deal for Chandler Parsons
Chandler Parsons' time with the Grizzlies could be coming to an end soon.
Memphis is "working on a potential trade destination" for Parsons," according to The Athletic. The report comes following a meeting between Marc Gasol, Mike Conley Jr. and owner Robert Pera to discuss the state of the team.
The 30-year-old forward, who signed a four-year, $94 million contract in 2016, has expressed frustration with his role and spent time away from the team after the franchise made him a healthy inactive, even though he was cleared to play Dec. 21 after missing two months with a knee injury.

“I’m medically cleared by the people I work with every single day, that are experts at this kind of stuff,” Parsons told the Memphis Commercial Appeal last month. “So, it’s frustrating to watch a team struggle and I’m sitting there on the bench healthy, dying to play.
“I already earned a starting spot out of training camp and have shown I can fit with the team. I think the confusion for me is there’s no communication about what’s going on and when I’m going to play.”
An eight-year veteran, Parsons averaged 5.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game over three appearances before he was shut down with the knee injury. He said the team has “no set plan of when” he is going to play again.
