NBA trade rumors: Cavaliers send Rodney Hood to Trail Blazers
Rodney Hood's time with the Cavaliers is reportedly over.
Cleveland and the Trail Blazers have reached a deal that sends Hood to Portland in exchange for guards Nik Stauskas, Wade Baldwin and two future second-round picks (one in 2021 and 2023), ESPN reported Saturday.
Hood had veto power over any deal because he signed a one-year qualifying offer worth $3.4 million this summer. The 26-year-old guard previously had drawn interest from the Pelicans, Thunder and Bucks.

“It’s always good to feel wanted,” Hood said Saturday prior to the trade, via cleveland.com. "Even in free agency last year it was the same thing even though I wound up signing the qualifying (offer). It’s good to know people appreciate you. Being a part of a trade doesn’t always mean you’re not a good player. It means they want to do something different for their organization.
“As long as you have a job, I’m providing for my family, I’m blessed and you move forward. There’s no malice towards anything. It’s basketball. I’m healthy. I’m playing the game I love so you move forward with it. I don’t keep harping on it because you will go crazy and it will affect your mind and it messes up your play so stay sharp and have fun with it at the end of the day.”
Hood, who previously played four seasons with the Jazz, had been the Cavs' fifth-leading scorer this season, averaging 12.2 points on 42.7 percent shooting from the field and 36.2 percent from 3-point range.
The Cavaliers have been at the bottom of the NBA this season, carrying a 11-42 record heading into their next matchup Tuesday against the Celtics.
