NASCAR at Kansas: Jeff Gordon blames former team for Chase Elliott's collision on pit road
Future NASCAR Hall of Famer and current Fox Sports analyst Jeff Gordon still has plenty of friends on the No. 24 team, but he wasn't going to shift the blame to another team after Chase Elliott collided with Michael McDowell on pit road early in the Go Bowling 400 at Kansas Speedway on Saturday night.
Gordon drove the No. 24 car for 23 full seasons until Elliott took over last season but was quick to point out on the Fox Sports 1 broadcast that Elliott's spotter or team members should have let him know McDowell was trying to enter his pit stall while Elliott was exiting his.
The mistake resulted in heavy right-front damage to Elliott's car. He told his team on the radio after the contact: "There goes our night."
