NASCAR at Charlotte: TV schedule, dates, times, qualifying drivers for Coca-Cola 600
Formally known as the World 600, the Coca-Cola 600 has been NASCAR's longest race since 1960 and returns Sunday night in the sport's backyard.
The 400 laps around Charlotte Motor Speedway's 1.5-mile track Sunday changes drastically from start to finish. As the sun sets and the track becomes cooler, the more grip on the racetrack a car has but when the green flag drops, the hot track can cause cars to slip and slide.
The race also reminds us that the NASCAR season is a third of the way finished. So far Kyle Larson leads the points standings but Kyle Busch owns the momentum after winning Saturday night's All-Star Race on the same track.
If he wins on Sunday, Kyle Busch will become the eighth driver to win both the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race and Coca-Cola 600: Darrell Waltrip (1985), Davey Allison (1991), Dale Earnhardt (1993), Jeff Gordon (1997), Jimmie Johnson (2003), Kasey Kahne (2008) and Kurt Busch (2010).
Kyle Busch also won Friday's Truck Series race at Charlotte but won't be driving in this weekend's Xfinity Series event as he focuses on NASCAR's marathon and winning his first official race of the Cup Series season.
