'My heart is really not into practising' - Woods unlikely to compete at Players Championship
Tiger Woods cast doubt over his participation in the Players Championship, conceding "my heart is really not into practising right now".

The 15-time major champion, who missed the Genesis Invitational last month following the death of his mother, returned to action at the TGL, in which he competed for the Jupiter Links.

However, he has not featured at a PGA Tour event since the Open last July, having undergone his latest back surgery two months later.

Woods is a two-time winner of the Players Championship, having lifted the trophy in 2001 and 2013.

However, with players having to commit to the tournament by a deadline on Friday, it appears the 49-year-old will not compete in this year's event at TPC Sawgrass in Florida, which begins next Thursday.

"This is the third time I've touched a club since my mother passed, so I haven't really gotten into it," Woods told Sports Illustrated after featuring in the TGL on Monday.

"My heart is really not into practising right now. I've had so many other things to do with the Tour and trying to do other things.

"Once I start probably feeling a little bit better and start getting into it, I'll start looking at the schedule."
