The Music Behind Sage Northcutt's Walkout
“Super” Sage Northcutt is all passion and energy as he walks down the ramp to the ONE Circle.
As one of the most exciting and athletic martial artists on the planet, “Super” wanted an entrance song that could project his exuberance.
“Of course you want a song that pumps you up,” Northcutt said.

The American drew inspiration from his Christian beliefs and found the perfect song for his ONE Championship entrance.
“I’ve always walked out to Christian music,” he said. “My last song got changed, it was a different song than what I was planning to walk out to, but in my previous fights, I walked out to a song called ‘Represent’ by a singer named Lecrae.”
“I grew up in Houston, Texas, and I believe Lecrae grew up close by where I was from. He’s a Christian hip-hop artist.”
Lecrae’s 2012 release of “Gravity” propelled the Christian hip-hop artist to a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, adding to his other impressive six Christian music chart-topping studio albums.
However, the single “Represent” on Lecrae’s first studio album “Real Talk” in 2004 made the deepest impression on Northcutt.
“I actually heard ‘Represent’ when I was at Christian camp when I was younger. Ever since then, it kind of pumped me up,” he said.
The multiple-time Karate World Champion believes this song reflects his motivations, personality, and values. It is an integral part of his entrance and allows Northcutt to better connect with his fans.
“I’ve always liked it because it shows who I am,” Northcutt said.
“For me, I’m a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ and that he died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. So, not only does it pump me up, but it goes with my beliefs. That’s why I like his song.”
The 24-year-old Team Alpha Male representative will have an opportunity to dazzle fans again when he returns to action.
After his promotional debut last May, Northcutt will now move down from welterweight to compete at featherweight instead.
Although there is no scheduled date yet for his return, fans can expect to see him strut down the ramp rocking to the beats of “Represent.”
