The India national team and captain Virat Kohli found an unlikely fan for their 2019 Cricket World Cup campaign when football star Thomas Muller threw his support to them on Monday.
The Bayern Munich star took to Twitter to post a picture of him wearing an Indian cricket jersey and give a special shout-out to the Men in Blue.
"I wish all participants of the Cricket #WorldCup2019 good luck & thrilling matches.
"Especially I cross my fingers for @imVkohli, the captain of the Indian team.
"He's a fan of @DFB_Team and supported it multiple times in the past," the 29-year-old tweeted.
It marked another moment that football and cricket worlds crossed path in recent weeks, with Chelsea defender David Luiz also wishing all the best to Kohli just before the World Cup, which commenced last Friday.
They lifted the trophy in 1983 and 2011, and lost to eventual winners Australia in the semi-finals of the 2015 edition.

India begin their quest for a third World Cup triumph with a match against South Africa on Wednesday. As you all know I love both football & cricket. I asked @DavidLuiz_4 who he was backing for the @cricketworldcup & his reply was @BCCI & captain @imVkohli . He had a special message for the captain. ?? #ViratKohli pic.twitter.com/2kKqwSnrtX
