Marquette guard Markus Howard torched the nets Wednesday for 52 points in a 95-90 overtime win over Providence.
Howard's 52 points set a Marquette scoring record for a single game, and tied a Big East record. He hit 17 of 29 from the field, including 11 of 19 from 3-point range.

Howard is not stranger to lighting it up from deep. The sophomore entered the game averaging over 20 points per game this season, and he shot 55 percent from beyond the arc last season as a freshman.
Marquette (11-4) has now won six of its last seven games after starting the season with three early losses.
