Jazeman Jaafar, Nabil Jeffri and Weiron Tan will be making their debut at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in Paris, France, from June 16 to 17.

The Malaysian trio will be racing for Jackie Chan DC Racing against more than 20 teams in the LMP2 (Le Mans Prototype 2) category.

The success of Jazeman, Tan and Afiq Ikhwan Yazid emerging as champions at the Asian Le Mans in Buriram, Thailand, in January enabled them to receive the invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

However, Afiq could not join the team due to prior commitments and was replaced by Nabil, who was the youngest test driver in the history of Formula One.

Jazeman, who has almost 10 years experience in motorsports, said he and his team-mates had made intensive preparations for the race and highlighted the importance of mental resilience to finish the 24-hour race.

"Our training focuses on the mental strength to last 24 hours in the race, which is very challenging, and we have also conducted simulation training in England to learn various techniques of handling the Le Mans circuit.

"Apart from that, such an endurance race requires maximum alertness," he told reporters during a breaking of fast organised by the Sepang International Circuit on Wednesday.

The world famous endurance championship has featured the top drivers in the world over the years including Fernando Alonso and Juan Pablo Montoya.
