Malaysia still looking for first 2018 Asian Para Games gold medal
Malaysia are still looking for the elusive first gold medal after the second day of competition at the 2018 Asian Para Games.
The Malaysian contingent raked in three silver and two bronze medals on Monday.
National para cyclists Nur Azlia Syafinaz Zais and Khairul Hazwan Wahab delivered a silver each in the women's time trial B category and men's time trial B category respectively, while Najib Turano bagged a bronze medal in the men's time trial C4 category.

Another silver was won by Siti Nor Radiah Ismail in the women's T20 long jump, while Rizal Hassan claimed a bronze medal in the men's tenpin bowling TPB3 category.
Hopes for a gold medal would focus on cyclists Nur Azlia Syafinaz Zais and Nurul Shuhada Zainal in the 70km road race on Tuesday.
Other potential gold medal winners for Malaysia would be mixed doubles lawn bowlers Abdillah Rashid/Mazha Arbik, bowler Abu Bakar Nyat (men’s singles Mix TPB9), Nasharuddin Mohamed (400m athletics) and 2016 Rio Paralympics long jump gold medalist Abdul Latif Romly.
At the end of the second day, Malaysia were placed 17th with five silver and four bronze medals, while China led the medal tally with 34 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze medals.
On Sunday, Malaysia won two silver medals via men's team badminton, and swimmer Fraidden Dawan in the men's 100m butterfly S10 category.
Malaysia are targeting to win 15 gold medals by participating in 15 of 18 sports at the Asian Para Games, which would conclude on October 13.
