Lance Armstrong announces engagement to longtime girlfriend

Lance Armstrong needs to start shopping for a tandem bicycle.

The former cyclist on Tuesday announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Anna Hansen in a post on his Instagram account, simply captioning his photo of the couple with "She said..... YES!!!!"

 

Armstrong and Hansen have been together for nearly 10 years and have two children together.

Armstrong, 45, was stripped of his titles and banned from competition in 2012 when the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency leveled accusations that Armstrong was orchestrating a widespread doping scheme.

He later admitted to steroid use in January 2013 and faces a $100 million U.S. government lawsuit tied to his years of doping after a trial was granted permission to proceed in February.
