Khairul Hafiz Jantan is planning to train with Japanese running sensation Abdul Hakim Sani Brown.

Despite just turning 18 this year, the Ghanaian-Japanese is considered by many as the next Usain Bolt after winning gold medals in 100m and 200m at the 2015 World Youth Championships in Athletics.

He also reached the 100m semi-final and competed in the 200m final at last month's IAAF World Championships.

Due to that, the 2017 SEA Games gold medallist is keen to train with Sani Brown in Japan next month.

"We all know that Sani Brown recorded a time of 10.25s in Colombia in 2015 when he was just 16 years old," he said.

"Japanese runners have a strong fighting spirit and if I can train there, I will use the opportunity to the fullest."

Khairul is now back at Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School to train for next March's IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, England, and prepare for the Commonwealth and Asian Games.

"We are in the midst of preparing our training plans for the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, in which one of them is to train in Japan," said head coach Poad Kassim.

"If all goes well, we will go there in October."
