Upsets have become the norm in college basketball this season, and No. 1 Michigan State was the latest to suffer a setback Sunday against Ohio State.

The Buckeyes torched Michigan State 80-64 at home, thanks to a career-high 32 points from Keita Bates-Diop. The senior forward also added seven rebounds and three steals while hitting 12 of 21 field goal attempts.

A late offensive spurt helped Ohio State claim a 41-29 halftime lead as Tom Izzo shouted in frustration. The Buckeyes didn't let up in the second half, giving their fans something to celebrate.

Ohio State (13-4) has owned Big Ten play this season, earning wins over MSU, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa. The Buckeyes finished with four players in double figures Sunday, including 14 from point guard C.J. Jackson.

Joshua Langford and Miles Bridges led Michigan State (15-2) with 17 points apiece, but it was a forgettable game for Bridges after hitting just 7 of 19 from the field. The Spartans, usually deep, scored just four bench points.

With No. 2 Duke losing Saturday night, No. 3 Villanova could return to their former No. 1 spot in the new rankings.
