Hawks' Paul Millsap opts out of $21.4M deal for 2017-18, report says
Hawks All-Star forward Paul Millsap will test free agency this summer, opting out of his $21.4 million contract for next season, Yahoo Sports' The Vertical reported Monday, citing unidentified league sources.
Millsap, 32, becomes the top free-agent power forward, according to The Vertical, and the Hawks have said that re-signing him would be a top priority in July. Millsap also has expressed interest in re-signing.
In 11 NBA seasons with the Hawks and Jazz, Millsap has averaged 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds. He was an All-Star for the fourth time this season and in 69 regular-season games averaged 18.1 points and 7.7 rebounds.
