Hawks following Falcons' lead with cheap concessions

The Hawks are taking a leaf out of the Falcons' book when it comes to concessions.

This upcoming season, Atlanta will offer an array of cheaper snack options, including $1 chips, $4 unlimited fountain drinks and $5 beers at Philips Arena.

According to the Hawks, they will be the first NBA team to offer a fan-friendly pricing plan. The pricing isn't just during the NBA season, either. Philips Arena will feature the budget-friendly items throughout the year for concerts, shows and other games.

Last year, the Falcons unveiled cheap concessions at Mercedes-Benz stadium, which saw a 16 percent increase in sales, despite the lower prices.

While the Hawks are not considered playoff contenders this season, the cheap snacks will be a crowd pleaser.
