Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah is hoping for a dry track at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) for the 2018 Malaysian MotoGP this Sunday.
The Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider said a wet track would be a challenge for him as he had never raced on one since being promoted to the Premier Class.
"I honestly hope for a good weather and a dry track because I have no experience of racing on a wet circuit [at this level].
"I just need to be more consistent in the middle of the race to get a better result," the 24-year-old told reporters during a pre-event ceremony at Jalan Ampang on Wednesday.
Hafizh, who is gunning for the title of the best rookie rider this season, admitted about being under a little bit of pressure but felt that racing at home in front of local supporters would be a morale booster.
He currently sits in 18th place after 17 races with 34 points, 12 behind Honda's Franco Morbidelli who is also vying for the same title.
