Sergio Garcia made his move at the Sanderson Farms Championship to be in a three-way tie for the lead after the third round.

The Spaniard, who is without a PGA Tour win since claiming the Masters in 2017, fired a six-under 66 on Saturday.

Garcia climbed into 14 under to sit alongside Cameron Davis (63) and J.T. Poston (69) at the Country Club of Jackson in Mississippi.

A 10-time winner on the PGA Tour, Garcia was flawless in the third round, making six birdies to be in position for a victory.

Garcia has been putting with his eyes closed and the 40-year-old explained the technique was helping him.

"It is what I'm doing, but I don't know why it's such a big deal. I don't see anywhere in the book of rules of golf where it says that you can't do it," he said.

"At the end of the day we're all trying to find ways to be better, to be more consistent, and that's what works for me.

"I've done it for quite a while now in practice and obviously in most of my tournaments. It's just a personal thing that I feel like it helps me, and that's why I do it."

Davis produced comfortably the best round of the day, the Australian building on a flying start that saw him birdie the opening five holes.

Poston, meanwhile, continued his consistent showing, following up rounds of 66 and 67 with a 69.

Overnight leader Keegan Bradley struggled to a one-over 73 to slip back to 12 under and a tie for sixth, alongside Aaron Wise (67) and Denny McCarthy (69).

That trio is a stroke behind Brandt Snedeker (67) and Kristoffer Ventura (68).
