Five-star shooting guard M.J. Walker picks Florida State
The 2017 class of incoming college basketball freshmen is almost set in stone.
Five-star shooting guard M.J. Walker, ranked No. 25 on ESPN's top 100 list, chose Florida State over UCLA and Ohio State. He made his decision public Tuesday afternoon during a press conference at his high school.
Leonard Hamilton and the Seminoles have now landed a five-star prospect in three straight recruiting classes, including Dwayne Bacon in 2015 and Jonathan Isaac in 2016.
Walker, a McDonald's All-American from Jonesboro (Ga.) High School, averaged 27.8 points and 6.5 rebounds this past season.
With Walker committed, five-star small forward Brian Bowen from Saginaw, Mich., is the only remaining five-star senior recruit still on the open market. His recruitment has become complicated after Miles Bridges decided to return to Michigan State for his sophomore season.
