Veteran Ducks defenseman Kevin Bieksa was scheduled to undergo surgery on his left hand Friday to remove scar tissue and is expected to be out of the lineup 2-5 weeks, the team announced.

The news comes as Anaheim is down to its last 11 games to make a final push for the playoffs.

In 59 games, Bieksa, 36, has racked up team-high 83 penalty minutes. He has no goals and eight assists, and a plus/minus of minus-13.

The Ducks got a key win over the Canucks on Wednesday, snapping a three-game skid that saw them slide out of Western Conference playoff positioning. Still, in ninth place with 82 points, they are only three points back of the No. 4 spot in the tightly packed conference.
