Arizona freshman Deandre Ayton has officially announced his intentions to enter the 2018 NBA Draft after spending one season with the Wildcats.

"I'm so blessed for the opportunity I had at Arizona, and I'm excited to announce I will be entering the 2018 NBA Draft!" Ayton wrote on Twitter.

Ayton also released a video thanking Arizona for the opportunity that featured highlights from his college career.

"I'm just a kid from the Bahamas who came to the States when I was 12 years old with a dream. I can't say anything about this journey other than it's God's plan. Next Stop: 2018 NBA Draft," Ayton wrote.

Arizona's big man only played one collegiate season, but he made a statement about his talent in a very short amount of time. Ayton started in all 35 games that he played in, averaging 20.1 points on 61 percent shooting with 11.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks. The freshman went on to win the Pac-12 Player of the Year award.

Ayton led Arizona to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 4 seed of the South Region, but the Wildcats fell out after a big first-round loss to Buffalo.

The Bahamas native is considered one of the top prospects in this year's NBA Draft class, and many are predicting the 7-1 center could go as the No. 1 overall pick this June.
