Australia 26-4 New Zealand: Kangaroos gain revenge over poor Kiwis
Josh Addo-Carr scored a debut try as Australia capitalised on a poor New Zealand display to secure an emphatic 26-4 Oceania Cup win at WIN Stadium.

The Kangaroos were hungry for revenge in Wollongong on Friday after losing to their Trans-Tasman rivals last October and scored two tries in each half to seal a comfortably victory.

Addo-Carr and Tyson Frizell crossed in the first half, with the impressive Damien Cook adding a third before laying one on for James Tedesco in a clinical showing from Mal Meninga's men.

New Zealand made far too many errors eight days before the first Test against the Great Britain Lions, with Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad's first-half try all they could conjure up.

World champions Australia will be expected to lift the Oceania Cup by beating Tonga at Eden Park on November 2.

Latrell Mitchell put Australia in front with a penalty eight minutes in and laid on the opening try for Addo-Carr after JakeTrbojevic had a score ruled out for a knock-on.

Winger Addo-Carr sprinted away to go under the posts midway through the first half after Mitchell intercepted a pass from an out-of-sorts Shaun Johnson deep in his own half.

Frizell powered his way over to increase Australia's advantage, but the Kiwis posed a threat in the first half and Nicoll-Klokstad darted between Jack Wighton and Nick Cotric at the other end to reduce the deficit to 12-4 at the break.

Michael Maguire's side did not do themselves any favours after the interval, though, and the rapid Cook scooted away for a breakaway try after Adam Blair coughed the ball up with New Zealand on the attack.

Cook turned provider just five minutes later, putting a try on a plate for the onrushing Tedesco after the livewire hooker showed more nimble footwork.

Mitchell successfully converted for a third time and Daly Cherry-Evans rounded off the scoring with a late penalty on a miserable evening for New Zealand.
