Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said that a draw would be redone for men's sepaktakraw events involving Malaysia at the 2018 Asian Games due to technical issues.

Confusion arose on Thursday in Jakarta, Indonesia, when Malaysia were included for a men's team doubles draw and excluded from the men's team regu event.

The men's team had only intended to compete in the regu and team regu events at the Games.

After the news broke, the new Malaysian Minister of Youth and Sports tweeted in response to StadiumAstro.com's article on Friday morning.

"The Youth and Sports Ministry has been informed that there has been a mistake by the INASGOC [Indonesian Asian Games 2018 Organising Committee]," he wrote.

"The INASGOC has contacted the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) and they will rectify the error and will redo the draw for the men's regu event."

The OCM also responded to the matter, confirming that the men's team only submitted their application to compete in regu events.
