Asian Games: Malaysia shooters fire blanks in Palembang
For the first time since 2006, Malaysia ended their Asian Games campaign without any shooting medal.
Malaysia's final shot at a medal finish ended on Friday when Joseline Cheah and Bibiana Ng did not qualify for the women's 10m air pistol final at the Jakabaring International Shooting Range in Palembang.

It was their respective second early exits, with Cheah failing to clear the qualifying round in the mixed 10m air pistol event alongside Johnathan Wong, and Ng also did not make the cut in the women's 25m pistol event.
It proved to be a disastrous outing for the Malaysian shooting team as nobody made it out of any qualifying stage, including Wong (men's 10m air pistol), Chen Seong Fook (men's trap), and Eng Wei Jin (men's double trap).
The closest to reaching a final were Alia Sazana Azahari and first-time debutants Nur Izazi Rosli and Lutfi Othman, who finished just outside the final eight in women's 25m pistol, men's 50m rifle three positions and women's 10m air rifle respectively.
At the previous Games in Incheon, Malaysia won two silver and one bronze.
