Azeem Fahmi continued his rise by claiming a bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Games on Saturday.
The 19-year-old national record holder crossed the line with a time of 10.11s, joining China’s Xie Zhenye (9.97s) and Thailand’s Puripol Boonson (10.02s) on the podium.

He had reached the final with a semi-final mark of 10.16s earlier in the day.
It was Malaysia’s first men’s 100m medal at the Asian Games since Rabuan Pit won gold in 1982 in New Delhi, India.
The final was not without controversy though, as Thailand’s Soraoat Dapbang was disqualified for his false start.
