Alma Juniku Aims To Defeat Todd, Challenge ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodrigues
Alma Juniku wants to show Muay Thai fans that she’s a learned fighter.
She’ll have the perfect opportunity to do so against ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion Janet “JT” Todd in a Muay Thai bout at the previously recorded ONE: FISTS OF FURY III, which took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and airs next Friday, 19 March.
It will be the Australian’s first time in the Circle since she dropped a decision to Anne Line Hogstad at ONE: FIRE & FURY – and she’s ready to showcase her new-and-improved skills.

“I have a lot to prove – not only to myself but to everyone,” Juniku says.
“I’ve learned that I need to push harder from the start. I was trying to save my energy when I don’t need to.
“And when I’ve watched [Todd’s] fights too, I’ve seen she has a really good work rate, so I need to match that.”
In fact, she’ll need to outdo Todd, who last tasted action when she toppled former two-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex to win the kickboxing strap she now holds.
“Janet looked very strong [in her last bout against Stamp]. I think it was a good performance from both of them,” Juniku said.
“I think Janet is a very good kickboxer. She is very strong, very quick, and I’ve noticed she likes to throw her high kicks a lot, but I feel like we match with good styles so I can’t wait.
“I wouldn’t say she has any weaknesses. She’s an all-round good fighter.”
To prepare for a tough welcome back to competition, Juniku has transformed her habits, from what she eats to how she trains.
“I’ve dieted, I’ve worked hard on my strength, and I am on weight. I feel really strong and healthy. There are no excuses for me,” she said.
“We’re both hungry. I’m going to come in with the power and speed, see how she goes, and I will match it.”
Of course, beating Todd would only be the first step in a journey Juniku’s already planned. It’s a journey that includes a potential showdown with ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
“What motivates me is I see the big picture, the opportunity, and what I could be doing with myself in the sport,” the Australian said.
“My goal is definitely to rise to the top. I want to be the best, and I want to become the World Champion in Muay Thai, so that’s what I’m really striving for this year.
“[Rodrigues] has got a good style. I’d love to fight her, so hopefully, I win this one.”
