As part of the Fire Dragoon team, Adam Erwann Shah "343" Akhtar Hussein and Lai "Ahjit" Jay Son qualified for the Grand Finals of the Malaysia Esports League (MESL) last weekend.
The two former Fnatic members were two of the biggest names competing in the Selangor qualifying round of the Dota 2 tournament, which was launched last month by Mineski Events Team in partnership with U Mobile, Logitech G, Astro's eGG Network and Twitch.tv.
Alongside Hiew "AlaCrity" Teck Yoong, Yang "yaNG" Liang Ying and Pang "BrayaNt" Jian Zhe, Fire Dragoon finished runners-up after losing to 818' Reverse Heaven in the final.
Despite the defeat, they still secured their Grand Finals qualification due to two spots being allocated for Selangor.
Meanwhile, the qualifying legs in Perak and Pahang held on the same weekend were won by Genesis and Mobile Girl respectively.
The next MESL qualifying round (September 9-10) will take place in Melaka and Penang, followed by Kelantan/Terengganu (September 15-16) and other states.
