76ers announce new starting lineup with Jimmy Butler

Brett Brown announced that they new starting lineup will be Butler, Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Wilson Chandler and Joel Embiid, according to The Athletic .

Starting lineup tonight is Simmons, Redick, Butler, Chandler and Embiid.

Dario Saric was traded to the Timberwolves, so clearly his spot in the rotation must be filled. Markelle Fultz has been starting since the beginning of the season in an effort to build his confidence, but Redick has been the team's selection to close out games.

Rddick is averaging 17.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists in just over 31 minutes. Fultz is averaging 9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists. His jump shot has come a long way, but Redick is easily the more viable scoring option. This move also makes sense because Fultz plays off the ball quite often, since Ben Simmons is the team's primary playmaker.

Sixers head coach Brett Brown says Fultz “has done nothing wrong.” It's simply about putting the most effective lineup out on the court.

Wilson Chandler's early-season hamstring injury has only allowed him to play four games for the 76ers this season. The 6-9 forward can score at all three levels, defend multiple positions and hit the boards. These skills are what made Philly pursue him this past offseason, luring him away from the Nuggets.

With the exception of Redick, every Sixers starter will have valuable length and versatility. The defensive potential is limitless, and Redick will be able to capitalize on the presence of Butler, as he'll likely get more opportunities to show why he's been on of the NBA's most proficient sharpshooters for years.
