4 Things You Didn't Know About Muhammad Aiman

The 25-year-old Negeri Sembilan native has gathered six impressive wins since turning professional in September 2016.

Much has changed for the lanky and exciting star in terms of skills, in-Circle experience, and all-around game.

As we await the “Jungle Cat’s” next appearance in ONE Championship, here are four things you did not know about him.

The Former MIMMA Featherweight Champion was raised by two of his greatest heroes in life – his mom and dad.

His parents worked hard to provide “Jungle Cat” and his siblings with a comfortable life, something he is very thankful for to this day.

“I look up to my father. He is one of the most patient people I have come across in my life. I don’t think I have met anyone more patient than him,” he said.

“My mom, on the other hand, is a hardworking and smart person. She has helped me a lot in my life and career.”

ONE may be packed with a plethora of World Champions, but to Aiman, there are two icons who stand out from the pack.

They are none other than two-division ONE World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang and ONE Featherweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen.

“When I look at these two guys, I can see myself being like them one day,” he said.

“I look up to them for various reasons. I admire how they talk, train, and compete, and I’m working towards that direction now.”

Even as a kid, Aiman had big dreams.

Though that dream did not turn into reality, he finds himself in a much more exciting job, battling against some of the finest warriors in the world of mixed martial arts.

“When my teacher went around the class asking all the kids, everyone gave a basic ambition,” he said. “I was only seven years old, but I replied, ‘I want to be a pilot of a jet fighter!’”

Whenever he gets some time off his job, the Malaysian bantamweight trades his gloves and shorts for a sketchbook and a pencil.

The “Jungle Cat” did art at a young age, beginning his hobby by sketching anime characters and then drawing portraits of famous people.

“If I had to pick between toys or a pencil and sketchbook as a kid, I would have picked the second one,” he said.
