Who is in the WSL '100 club'?

Last weekend, Nikita Parris became just the fifth player to register 100+ goal involvements in the WSL in Brighton's 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

It is a special group of players that make up the "100 club", with none other than all-time leading goalscorer Vivianne Miedema leading the pack.

Here we unpack the top five and see how they made it into this illustrious club.

After a long layoff with an ACL injury which saw her miss most of the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns, Miedema has found her form this term, with a move to Manchester City reinvigorating her.

As well as being the league's all-time top scorer, Miedema also leads the WSL for goal contributions, with 122 following her assist for Khadija Shaw on Wednesday against West Ham.

She is nothing other than prolific in front of goal and scores on average every 102 minutes. She boasts the best mins/goal ratio of any player with more than 85 WSL goal contributions.

Her best season came in 2018-19 when she managed 32 goal involvements (22 goals, 10 assists). In fact, Miedema has registered 20+ goals and assists in four different WSL seasons; no other player has done so more than twice.

She averages an assist every 244 minutes, while her minutes-per-goal contribution is a staggering 72.06. Miedema averages a goal contribution every 38 touches.

Since the turn of the year, she is the joint-top scorer in the WSL, along with Arsenal's Mariona Caldentey, netting five goals.

Beth Mead sits just behind former team-mate, Miedema, and it is no surprise after their years together at Arsenal. The Gunners won the league in 2018-19, which proved one of Mead's best seasons.

In that title-winning campaign, Mead managed 19 goal involvements (seven goals, 12 assists), while her second-best season came ahead of the Euros in 2021-22, when, again, she registered 19 (11 goals, eight assists).

Mead took her incredible form into the Euros, helping the Lionesses win the trophy – she was involved in 10 goals (six goals, four assists), the most by any player that Opta has on record across the last three tournaments. Mead's six goals were the joint-most by a player in a single edition in history.

Mead has created 350 chances, 109 more than Fran Kirby's 241, at an average of 2.07 per game. Her 114 goal contributions mean she averages 0.67 per match.

The Arsenal star will be looking to break another record this season – she is just three assists away from 50 in the WSL.

As well as being third on the all-time goal contributions list, Bethany England is also the second-highest scorer in WSL history, sitting just four behind Miedema, who she continues to chase down.

This year she has continued to make her mark on the WSL, breaking records for fun.

On matchday 12, she claimed a unique record, becoming the first player to score against all 19 clubs to have played in the league since its inception in 2011.

Last weekend she also became the first player to register 25+ goals for two different teams in the WSL. Her time at Chelsea and Tottenham has shown her ability to score and provide no matter where she is.

Her best season came in 2019-20, when she managed 18 goal involvements (14 goals, four assists), helping Chelsea to win the first of five consecutive WSL titles.

She averages a goal contribution every 105 minutes and every 52 touches. However, with just 24 assists, England has set up fewer goals than any other player on the list.

Fran Kirby makes the list and in her nine-year spell at Chelsea, proved why she is one of the league's all-time best. She left as the club's leading scorer with 115 goals in 205 appearances in all competitions.

Kirby has the best shot conversion rate (22.45%) of the five players, scoring 66 goals from 294 shots in the WSL. She has either scored or created a goal every 79 minutes.

Her best season came in 2020-21, with an incredible 28 goal involvements (16 goals, 12 assists). She finished third in the Golden Boot race that season, behind Sam Kerr (21) and Miedema (18).

Parris is the latest player to join the list and has done so while playing for five different WSL clubs. She also spent two years in France, making this milestone all the more impressive.

Parris has had the second-most shots of any player on this list (480), with only Miedema attempting more in the WSL (488).

Her best return came in 2018-19 when she managed 26 goal involvements (19 goals, seven assists). It was her highest-ever goal haul in a WSL season, averaging a goal every 84.11 minutes.

She has created the fewest chances of anyone to hit 100 goal involvements in the competition, though at just 167.

Jordan Nobbs and Lauren Hemp both sit on 89 involvements and are the two players closest to joining the club. Without the injury this season, Hemp may already have reached this milestone.

Hemp (51 goals, 38 assists) became the youngest player in WSL history to reach 50+ goals and, once fit and healthy, it will not be long before she joins the 100 club.
