Maxwel Cornet has joined Genoa on loan from West Ham for the remainder of the season.

The winger had been on a season-long loan at Southampton, where he made just four appearances across all competitions.

However, he returned to the Hammers earlier on Monday to facilitate his move to Serie A.

Cornet has scored just one goal in 37 appearances for West Ham, though he was part of the squad that won the 2023 Europa Conference League.

The Ivory Coast international links up with former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira at Genoa, who are 12th in Serie A.

Cornet's move represents the first activity during the January transfer window for the Hammers, who have reportedly had a bid for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran rejected.

Maxwel Cornet has joined Genoa on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season. Everyone at West Ham United would like to wish Maxwel the best for his loan spell in Italy.
