Pandelela Rinong bounced back from her disappointing preliminary round to reach the women's 10m platform final at the 2020 Olympic Games on Thursday.

The 28-year-old had barely made it through to the semi-final after finishing in the 18th and final qualifying spot yesterday.

However, the Sarawakian, who won bronze in the event at the 2012 Olympic Games and finished 11th in 2016, did not let it affect her as she finished seventh in the semi-final.

She recorded 315.75 points from five dives, while Chinese divers Quan Hongchan (415.65 points) and Chen Yuxi (407.75 points) as well as Delaney Schnell (342.75 points) of the United States continued their form to lead the rest.

The final is set to take place at 2pm (Malaysia time) today.
