The Shah Alam Stadium will host the Malaysia Cup final for the third year running, Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) confirmed on Tuesday.
According to their official statement, the 2017 final was initially scheduled to take place on October 28 at the newly refurbished Bukit Jalil National Stadium, but following several fixture changes to accommodate the national team's 2017 SEA Games preparation, it was postponed to November 4.
Unfortunately, due to the unavailability of the Bukit Jalil stadium on the new date, the M-League showrunners had to settle for the 80,000-capacity stadium instead.
The last two Malaysia Cup finals held at the Shah Alam Stadium were contested by Selangor and Kedah, with the former winning in 2015 and the latter last year.
There will not be a third consecutive final match-up, though, as both will face each other in the quarter-finals.
The other quarter-final encounters are Felda United-PKNP, Pahang-Perak and Melaka United-Johor Darul Ta'zim.
