Despite being one of the most famous footballers in the 21st century, Brazil great Ronaldinho said he was not a fan of modern training.
The 2005 Ballon d'Or winner, who announced his decision to retire this year after an illustrious career at club and international level, was in Malaysia for Heineken's 'Share The Drama, Share The Trophy' campaign in April, making an appearance on Astro SuperSport's Man On The Street at the same time.
"I was always accompanied by my personal trainer and physiotherapist, who is my own cousin," he said when quizzed about his training method by a local fan.
"We always looked for Brazilian and traditional ways of preparing myself because I did not enjoy going to the gym.
"I suffered a lot with modern training regimes, so my cousin always tried to make me more comfortable when I train.
"I did futsal, footvolley and different Brazilian ways of getting prepared when I did not fit with the modern training regimes."
During the Astro SuperSport segment, the 2002 FIFA World Cup winner also revealed his biggest regret in football was not winning a Brazilian league title.
"That was the only trophy I didn't win; I probably won everything else," said Ronaldinho, who also turned out for Brazilian sides Gremio, Flamengo, Atletico Mineiro and Fluminense.
