Barcelona came from behind to claim a record-extending 15th Supercopa de Espana title after beating Real Madrid 5-2 in an enthralling Clasico encounter.

Raphinha starred for the Blaugrana with two goals and an assist, with the triumph marking Hansi Flick's first trophy for the club since joining back in May.

Madrid, however, were ahead in the fifth minute when Kylian Mbappe rounded off a lightning counter-attack with a fine finish past Wojciech Szczesny early on.

But Barcelona restored parity soon after when Lamine Yamal was played in behind by Robert Lewandowski, the teenager taking his time before slotting the ball home.

Two goals in three minutes put Barca firmly in control of the contest, with Lewandowski scoring a penalty after Gavi had been felled in the box by Eduardo Camavinga.

Raphinha then powered a superb header beyond the grasp of Thibaut Courtois following Jules Kounde's raking delivery, but the first-half scoring was not done there.

Flick's side pulled further clear in the 10th minute of first-half stoppage time when Alejandro Balde gathered Raphinha's pass before finding the bottom right-hand corner.

Raphinha then grabbed his brace three minutes after the restart, chopping back onto his favoured left foot to fire the ball home after Marc Casado's incisive throughball.

Barcelona, however, were reduced to 10 men just before the hour when Szczesny raced out of his penalty area and chopped down Mbappe.

The decision was eventually given after referee Gil Manzano was sent to the monitor to review the incident, with the Pole sent off on just his third start for Barca.

Szczesny’s replacement, Inaki Pena, was then picking the ball out of the net in his first involvement of the game as Rodrygo crashed the resulting free-kick in off the post.

But Barcelona's sizeable margin saw them cruise through the closing stages, with Mbappe coming closest to netting another consolation goal in the 90th minute.

Data Debrief: Barcelona boss the Clasico

The Clasico has seen some enthralling games over the years on the grandest of stages, but the 2025 Supercopa de Espana will surely be remembered for years to come.

But it was Barcelona who reigned supreme once again, having thrashed Los Blancos 4-0 earlier in the season, with their impressive form in the fabled fixture continuing.

Flick's side have now scored at least four goals in back-to-back Clasicos for the first time in history in all competitions, while it is also the first time either side had achieved that feat since Madrid did so back in 1963.

Barca have now scored nine goals in their last two Clasico meetings, as many as they had in their previous six encounters in all competitions.

And despite being on the losing side, Mbappe continued his impressive form in finals for his new side. The Frenchman became the first Madrid player to score in his first three finals for the club in all competitions since at least the 2013-14 season.
