Philadelphia Union defeated struggling FC Cincinnati 2-0 thanks to Kacper Przybylko and Fafa Picault.

MLS newcomers Cincinnati were left without a win in six matches following Wednesday's trip to Pennsylvania, where the Union moved level atop the Eastern Conference.

Neither team could be separated in the first half at Talen Energy Stadium but Philadelphia took control following the interval.

Polish striker Przybylko opened the scoring with a glancing header in the 63rd minute and Picault doubled the lead seven minutes later.

The Union held on for victory to improve to 17 points from 10 games, level with DC United and Montreal Impact in the east.

Without a win since March 24 amid a run of four consecutive defeats, Cincinnati are second-bottom in the Eastern Conference – four points adrift of the play-off places.
