Partick stretched their unbeaten Scottish Championship run to five matches with a 2-1 victory at home to Airdrieonians.

Ricco Diack got Partick off to an ideal start as he opened the scoring after just seven minutes, rising highest to head in from a corner.

The 18-year-old threatened again as he glanced an effort past the post after 32 minutes and his involvement forced the second five minutes later.

Aidan Fitzpatrick’s cross towards the striker resulted in Callum Fordyce knocking the ball into his own net.

Craig Watson pulled one back for the visitors nine minutes after half-time, latching on to Calum Gallagher’s cushioned header before firing home.
