Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) acting president Yusoff Mahadi confirmed that only FAM secretary-general Hamidin Amin submitted his nomination form to contest for the post of the president of the national football body.

He said the FAM already sent out nomination forms to all candidates, the others being former Kelantan Football Association president Annuar Musa and National Sports Institute (ISN) chairman Abdul Azim Zabidi.

"So far we have received only one from Datuk Hamidin, and the other two have not yet done so," he told a press conference after the FAM's breaking of fast with local media on Sunday.

According to him, the two candidates asked for more time to make their decisions before the June 14 deadline.

Hamidin, who received nominations from 18 affiliates, was taken aback by the last minute nominations of Annuar by Kuala Lumpur Football Association and Azim by Pahang Football Association to vie for the FAM president's seat, which was vacated by Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim on April 2.

If the other two candidates are confirmed to be contesting, it would be a three-cornered fight at the 54th FAM Congress on July 14.
