Kuala Lumpur and Terengganu defeated Sabah 2-0 and PDRM 3-0 respectively on Tuesday to seal their return to the Malaysian Super League next season.
The wins moved the joint-leaders seven points clear at the top of the Malaysian Premier League table, meaning third-place PKNP, who will play against Kuantan tomorrow, will not be able to catch them with two games remaining.
Kuala Lumpur, who last played in the Super League in 2012, had Guilherme de Paula to thank for their top-flight football return as his 25th and 26th league goals of the season took down the in-form Rhinos, who were unbeaten in their last five league games.
As for Terengganu, who were relegated last season, Faiz Nasir, Issey Nakajima-Farran and Kipre Tchetche found the back of the net to ensure the Turtles returned to the Super League shores at the first time of asking.
Negeri Sembilan, whose promotion chances were already unlikely going into the penultimate gameweek, grabbed a 1-0 win at home against UiTM courtesy of Lee Tuck's early strike.
At the other end of the league table, ATM and MISC-MIFA remained in the bottom two after playing out a 1-1 draw with goals from Faiz Ibrahim and Luiz Eduardo Purcino respectively.
Despite that, they still managed to cut Perlis' two-point cushion above the relegation zone to one following the Northern Lions' 5-1 loss to 10-men Johor Darul Ta'zim II (JDT II) in an earlier kick-off.
Thanks to a Nicolas Alberto brace, an own goal and a goal apiece from Shafiq Shaharudin and Jeronimo Barrales, the Johor side saw off Perlis, who found a consolation through Zafuan Azeman, at the Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium.
The results mean the fates of all three teams will be decided on the final league game of the season on October 20, with ATM and Perlis facing each other and MISC-MIFA taking on PDRM.
