Malaysia booked their spot in the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup semi-finals after overcoming Myanmar 3-0 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Saturday.

The 2010 winners, who needed to win to reach the semi-finals after winning twice and losing once in Group A, started off brightly and constantly pressured Myanmar, who needed just a draw.

After missing several early chances, the Harimau Malaya got the opening goal through Norshahrul Idlan Talaha's fourth goal of the tournament

Malaysia captain Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in injury time before bagging his second goal of the night in the dying minutes of the game.

The win ensured Tan Cheng Hoe's men sealed their ninth semi-final appearance in 12 editions as Group A runners-up behind Vietnam, who beat Cambodia by the same scoreline in Hanoi.

Malaysia would find out about their semi-final opponents on Sunday with Thailand, Philippines and Singapore locked in a three-way fight in Group B.
