Malaysia to face Indonesia in AFF U-16 Championship semi-finals
Malaysia will take on hosts Indonesia in the 2018 AFF U-16 Youth Championship semi-finals after finishing as Group B runners-up on Tuesday.
Needing a win against Laos in their final group match to overtake them for a spot in the semi-finals, the young Tigers did just that with a 1-0 win courtesy of Anoulack Vannalath's own goal at the Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium in Gresik.
It was their third straight win since losing their opening match to eventual group winners Thailand, who will face Myanmar in the other semi-final encounter.

Malaysia's other wins came against Brunei (6-1) and Singapore (4-0).
Meanwhile, Indonesia, whom they will face at the Delta Sidoarjo Stadium in Surabaya on Thursday, had a perfect group stage with five wins out of five, including a 4-2 win over defending champions Vietnam.
The match could be a tense affair following an unsavoury incident that took place earlier in the competition.
For the record, Malaysia, who won the tournament once in 2013, finished fourth last year.
