Luqman Hakim joins Haaland, Greenwood, Sancho on Golden Boy shortlist
Malaysian wonderkid Luqman Hakim Shamsudin has been nominated for the 2020 Golden Boy award.
The 18-year-old, who was named as one of the Guardian's 60 best young footballers in the world in 2019, made the strong 80-nominee list, including the likes of Borussia Dortmund pair Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland, Manchester United's Mason Greenwood, Barcelona's Ansu Fati.
Luqman, who is set to join Belgian side K.V. Kortrijk, was one of the two Asian players to be shortlisted for the award — the other is Takefusa Kubo, who is playing for Real Mallorca on loan from Real Madrid.
