The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) ordered Kuantan to pay a rough total of RM763,063 to 23 of their former players on Friday.
The Seagulls were kicked out of the Malaysian Premier League in April after their coaching staff and players boycotted a league match against PDRM due to salary arrears of several months.
Some of the players they owed money to were 2011 Malaysian Super League Golden Boot winner Abdul Hadi Yahya (RM50,000), 2012 Treble winner Daudsu Jamaluddin (RM25,500) and former Johor Darul Ta’zim star Andrezinho (USD28,387.09/RM112,938).
Should they fail to settle the amount within the next 30 days, the case would be escalated to the FAM Disciplinary Committee.
Also at the receiving end of the national football body’s wrath were FAM League sides Perlis and PJ Rangers.
The Northern Lions owed 22 of their players a total of RM182,000, while the AirAsia-backed Petaling Jaya side were instructed to cough up RM120,000 for the wrongful contract termination of former player Abdullah Yusof.
