Kedah are set to establish a working relationship with Fernando Torres' club, Sagan Tosu.

Kedah president Mukhriz Mahathir held a meeting the J1 League club's chairman, Minoru Takehara, in Tokyo on Monday to discuss the potential collaboration.

Torres, who joined the Japanese club from Atletico Madrid last year, was also present at the meeting.

Although the meeting was just an initial discussion, Takehara planned to visit Kedah soon to confirm the partnership.

Once formalised, it would be the Malaysian Super League side's third affiliate club after England's Cardiff City and recently crowned A-League premier champions Perth Glory.
