Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim revealed that Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) could be playing a friendly match with Barcelona at the end of the month.

The Crown Prince of Johor, who is also JDT owner, posted an Instagram Story of a private conversation with Barca defender Gerard Pique on the subject on Saturday.

"There is a chance to bring Barcelona to Johor after the 27th [of July]... maybe to play against your team. Is this something that you would consider?

"The idea could be to play [on] the 27th in Japan and then fly to Johor, stay there a couple of days training at your training facilities and play a match [on] the 30th," wrote Pique.

Tunku Ismail agreed to it, pending further discussion on the matter.

Barcelona are scheduled to play preseason matches against Chelsea (July 23rd) and Vissel Kobe (27th) in Japan before returning to Spain to face Arsenal for the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 4th.

If materialised, it will be the LaLiga champions' first game in the country since 2013, when they beat a Malaysian XI 3-1 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
