Johor Darul Ta'zim striker Syafiq Ahmad was involved in a car accident on the North-South Expressway in early Sunday morning.
The Malaysia international was reportedly on his way with his family to Pendang, Kedah, when the accident involving a Toyota Vellfire happened at the Jawi Toll Plaza.
According to reports from the scene, Syafiq, his wife and his two-year-old daughter survived the crash.
However, the accident claimed the lives of his 22-day-old son, his mother-in-law and another passenger.

According to a spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department, they received a call at about 5:35am, and arrived at the scene 10 minutes later.
"There were six victims [in which] three were saved, while three others were pinned inside the vehicle. Firefighters removed those trapped inside the vehicle using special tools.
"Three of them were confirmed dead by paramedics at the scene and were handed to the police for further action," he said.
