Inter Miami trigger Jordi Alba contract extension
Inter Miami have triggered Jordi Alba's contract extension to keep the full-back at the club for a further year.
Alba joined the MLS side in July 2023 on a deal that ran through to the end of the 2024 campaign, which ended prematurely for Inter.
The Herons lost to Atlanta United in the first round of the MLS Cup playoffs last month in a shock exit for Lionel Messi and his team-mates.
Inter have now started their preparations for the 2025 season – Javier Mascherano's first as head coach – by announcing their roster decisions via the club's website on Monday.

Alba is one of seven players to have had their contract options exercised, along with Leo Afonso, Yannick Bright, CJ dos Santos, Ian Fray, Ryan Sailor, Marcelo Weigandt.
Cole Jensen, Sergii Kryvtsov, Franco Negri, Lawson Sunderland, Felipe Valencia and Matias Rojas all had their contract options declined, though Miami remain in talks with the latter.
Luis Suarez recently extended his contract at Chase Stadium, while Messi is already under contract until the end of next season.
