Hansi Flick hailed his "incredible" Barcelona team after their 5-2 hammering of Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana.

All of Barca's goals came in a remarkable first half in Riyadh on Sunday, as the Blaugrana charged into a 5-1 lead following Kylian Mbappe's earlier opener for Madrid.

Barca were reduced to 10 men when goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny saw red in the 56th minute, though a goal from Rodrygo was all Madrid could manage in response.

Victory marked Barca's 15th Supercopa title, and Flick's first trophy since he took over.

"I'm very proud of the team, the staff, the club, the fans, everyone who supports Barca," said Flick.

"I am proud to manage such an incredible team.

"After Szczesny was sent off, it wasn't easy for anyone. We the coaches had a little discussion and I thank them all because in the end we made the right decision.

2 - @FCBarcelona have scored at least 4 goals in back-to-back 'Clásicos' for the first time in history in all competitions (4-0 in LaLiga and 1-4 today) and it is the first time this has happened in this meeting since @realmadrid get it in 1963 (5-1 and 4-0). Unleashed. pic.twitter.com/UIvXo2hEEo

"We are a team. You could see that after the win, but it always shows. We stick together and our aim is to learn from every game.

"At big clubs, the goal is to win titles. And that's what we're working towards. We are very happy and proud but we need to keep showing that we are the best in every game."

Madrid had more shots (19 to 14) than Barca, but the Blaugrana were far more clinical, with Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Alejandro Balde on target.

"Real made many mistakes, and we knew how to take advantage of them to control the match," added Flick.
