Perak midfielder Hafiz Kamal is unlikely to play any part in the rest of the season after picking up a knee ligament injury during training.
According to head coach Mehmet Durakovic, it is a huge loss for his side, who will face Pahang at the Darul Makmur Stadium in their first leg of the 2017 Malaysia Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.
Furthermore, with three Super League games remaining, they are fighting to finish second for a possible chance to play in the AFC Cup next year.
"He is a good player and I hope he will recover soon," he said.
Meanwhile, Shahrom Kalam urged his Bos Gaurus team-mates to focus on the upcoming two-legged tie against Pahang.
"It will be an exciting encounter because both teams will want to take a comfortable lead into the second leg," said the Perak captain.
"It will not be easy because they are a good team with good players, but our objective [to win] remains.
"Both teams are equally strong, so the deciding factors will be the fighting spirit, focus and discipline level of the players.
"I urge my team-mates to give more effort than usual if they want to go further in the competition."
