Ex-Malaysia international Shebby Singh passes away aged 61

Former Malaysia player Serbegeth "Shebby" Singh has passed away on Wednesday.

It is learned that the former Johor and Kuala Lumpur defender passed away due to a heart attack.

He represented the Harimau Malaya from 1982 to 1991, including appearing in three Asian Games and winning a South East Asian Games gold medal.

After his retirement in 1996, he remained involved in football mostly as a pundit, appearing on Astro Arena and Astro Supersport among various TV networks.

Shebby was memorably appointed as global advisor for Blackburn Rovers in 2012 and also had a role at Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim.
